Preserve live deadlines when bounding pacing identities
When 128 credential/model identities have unexpired delays, observing a 129th identity deletes the oldest live deadline unconditionally. A subsequent request for that evicted identity can therefore be admitted immediately—its recovery state permits a probe without restoring the lost wait—so it may send before the upstream Retry-After deadline and aggravate throttling. Keep unexpired deadlines intact and handle overflow with a conservative gate or queue-overload refusal instead.

Scope the non-replayable marker to same-key retries.
markResponseNonReplayable(response, ...) is also used by the key-pool rotation gates. A long Mistral Retry-After therefore prevents rotation to another credential, even though the pacing identity includes the credential and the delay applies only to the refused key. This can return a 429 without attempting a healthy key.
The same marker also causes Responses delivery to call sanitizeNonReplayableUpstreamError, so the comment that the original body reaches the caller is not valid on those paths.
Use a separate marker for the same-key retry loops. Preserve the existing non-replayable marker for response sanitization, and keep the stored delay available for the final Retry-After response.
Suggested fix
- markResponseNonReplayable(response, String(Math.ceil(delay / 1000)));
+ markSameKeyRetryHold(response, String(Math.ceil(delay / 1000)));Carry this marker through carryReplayRefusal, and make the same-key 429 retry loops check it. Do not make the key-pool rotation gates check this marker.

Carry the input-normalization slice of draft #7281 (16263b7). Preserve call/result identities and image content while projecting text arrays; reject unsupported or malformed parts explicitly instead of forwarding them. Keep the normalizer independently covered by mocked, immutable-input tests. Co-authored-by: HeiTuz <79418013+HeiTuz@users.noreply.github.com>
Carry the independent completion guard and replay-safety tests from draft #7281 (16263b7). Inspect SSE/JSON only before meaningful output, release the held prefix on time/size expiry, and permit at most one eligible retry callback. Release the owned reader lock on cancellation and remove a redundant counter. Co-authored-by: HeiTuz <79418013+HeiTuz@users.noreply.github.com>
Port the remaining adapter/dispatch integration from draft #7281 (16263b7) onto current dev. Map input incompatibility to HTTP 400 before any send; cap empty-completion recovery at one physical send, including HTTP 503 and connection-reset failures, while preserving existing admission and accounting. Cover the actual handler with mocked fetches and keep English/Korean guidance consistent. Split the OpenGateway structure contract to stay within document budgets and distinguish native recovery from the translated opt-in guard. Verification: typecheck, 118 focused tests, 27 layout tests, 9 size-ratchet tests, structure and privacy checks, and the docs build passed. Changed-mode rerun passed 19780 tests with 34 skips (30s timeout, two workers); the first run had one unrelated package-tree subprocess timeout, which also passed standalone. Canonical key-auth Mistral Chat now sends prompt-cache keys, paces each credential/model pair from measured refusal headers with bounded, abortable waits outside the upstream header deadline, and retries 429s with a slower default budget. A server delay beyond the retry budget is kept non-replayable and its Retry-After reaches the caller. Relays, other adapters, OAuth credentials and xAI are unchanged. Co-authored-by: adaurban <31841049+adaurban@users.noreply.github.com>
A single-key native Chat route never re-resolved its transport, so the new Mistral retry default replayed an over-budget Retry-After after 60 seconds instead of returning the refusal. Co-authored-by: adaurban <31841049+adaurban@users.noreply.github.com>

At 128 live identities the pacer dropped the oldest deadline, so that credential/model pair could send before its Retry-After. Remember the latest evicted deadline and make identities without an entry wait it out; memory stays bounded and the only cost is conservative pacing under extreme fan-out. | Tool-result content arrays are sent as text, with images preserved after the paired tool-result group. Unsupported result parts, including refusals and opaque content, are rejected explicitly with a client input error before sending.
| Image detail `original` maps to `high`, which the gateway accepts; image bytes remain unchanged. | ||
| The native Responses route also checks text-only empty completions before exposing them as success. | ||
| Exhausted output budgets produce `incomplete` with `max_output_tokens`; the proxy does not increase | ||
| the requested budget. A replay-safe empty completion with budget remaining may retry once, within | ||
| the existing send limit. Explicit `emptyCompletionRetry: false` or `OCX_EMPTY_COMPLETION_RETRY=0` | ||
| disables that retry. Text, refusals, tool activity, and unknown stream events prevent replay and | ||
| retain the original stream. The protection does not change other providers or their retry defaults. | ||
| Replay requires explicit `store: false`, complete input, and client-executed tools only; a hosted | ||

Marking the refusal non-replayable also blocked key-pool rotation and sanitized the upstream body. Use a same-target retry hold that only the same-key 429 loops check (native Chat, adapter dispatch and continuation, image and web-search loops), carried across response rewraps, so another pooled key can still serve and the original status, body and Retry-After reach the caller. Also keep an evicted identity's live deadline in force when it re-enters with a shorter delay. Co-authored-by: adaurban <31841049+adaurban@users.noreply.github.com>

| | `responsesSnapshotRepair?` | `boolean` | Disabled-by-default client-facing repair for sparse Responses lifecycle snapshots in SSE and JSON. Fills missing canonical status, output, and tool metadata while raw inspection and persistence remain unchanged. | | ||
| | `webSearchBridge?` | `{ enabled?: boolean; backend?: "ollama" \| "openai" \| "anthropic" \| "xai" \| "gemini" \| "exa"; maxSearches?: number; timeoutMs?: number; endpoint?: string }` | Key-auth `openai-responses` passthrough providers only. Off by default. Codex always declares the hosted `web_search` tool, and the passthrough relays it on the assumption the destination executes it. A gateway that does not run hosted search answers with a `function_call` named `web_search` that nothing runs, and the undeclared-tool guard ends the turn. With `enabled: true` and an explicit `backend` OpenCodex intercepts that call, runs the search itself, feeds the result back to the same upstream, and shows Codex a hosted `web_search_call` cell. Never armed for `authMode: "forward"` (ChatGPT already searches) or for a provider that executes hosted search upstream. `backend` is required; there is no implicit default and a missing credential for the named backend leaves the bridge disarmed rather than falling through to another paid search. `ollama` reuses this provider's own API key on `POST <origin>/api/web_search`, so the origin must be `https://ollama.com` unless the operator names `endpoint` explicitly. `openai` / `anthropic` / `xai` / `gemini` / `exa` reuse the matching sidecar executor and that executor's own credential (`webSearchSidecar.exaApiKey` for Exa). The search model comes from `webSearchSidecar.model` only when `webSearchSidecar.backend` resolves to the same backend this bridge names; otherwise the bridge runs that backend's own default, because a model chosen for one vendor is rejected by another. An unset `webSearchSidecar.backend` resolves to `openai`, so an unset-backend model reaches an `openai` bridge and no other. There is no per-provider bridge model override. Streaming turns only. A turn that mixes `web_search` with another client tool call still fails closed rather than dropping the client's call. Assistant text such as XML-like `<web_search>` prose is not executed. Defaults: `maxSearches: 3` (1..10), `timeoutMs: 60000` (1000..600000). | | ||

Opt-in same-target 429 retry: when `retryOn429` is absent the feature is off, except that key-auth OpenCode Go and Command Code (canonical endpoints) fall back to a patient policy (6 replays, 10 s interval, 60 s cap); object presence enables it unless `enabled: false`, which also turns that fallback off. On 429 the proxy waits (upstream `Retry-After` or the fixed interval) and replays the identical request on the same key before any key failover — across the main text-turn recovery loop, the Responses passthrough wire, the image/video bridge, the web-search sidecar, and terminal continuations. Only pre-stream HTTP 429 responses are eligible for replay; custom `runTurn` transports are outside the HTTP retry loop. `attempts` counts same-key replays after the first 429 (total sends = `attempts` + 1) and is one request-wide budget shared by the main recovery loop, the terminal-guard continuation, and bridge retries. Exhausting `attempts` only stops further same-key replays: normal key failover or final-error handling then applies per the available targets — on the key-auth passthrough wire there is no failover, so the exhausted 429 surfaces as-is. Codex itself never retries 429, so this is the only defense for single-key providers. Defaults: `enabled: true`, `attempts: 3`, `intervalMs: 5000`, `maxIntervalMs: 60000` (any single wait is capped at `maxIntervalMs`, itself capped at 600000), `respectRetryAfter: true`.

For canonical Mistral Chat, an explicit upstream delay above the allowed wait stops same-key replay (another pooled key may still serve) and returns the original `Retry-After`; other providers retain the capped-delay behavior. Mistral shares retry deadlines per credential/model unless `requestPacing.enabled: false` or `retryOn429.respectRetryAfter: false`. A 429 with validated minute-budget pressure and no retry time activates a conservative 60 s recovery wait, followed by one probe; success restores ordinary traffic. Healthy traffic never predicts the next token charge. This policy uses advertised allowances, excludes known exhausted monthly allowances, does not claim an exact reset time, and never triggers compaction.

Update the translated retryOn429 rows.
The English row documents canonical Mistral fallback retries, shared credential/model deadlines, and minute-budget recovery. The Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Simplified Chinese rows still state that omission disables retries and list only the generic defaults. This contradicts the English behavior for canonical Mistral providers.

dev, with the requested changes made and review findings fixed.https://api.mistral.ai/v1,openai-chat) now sends prompt-cache keys and paces each credential and model pair using measured rate-limit headers. Waits are bounded, can be aborted, and run outside the upstream header deadline. A 429 retries under a slower default budget (6 attempts, 10 s interval, 60 s maximum wait). A server delay longer than that budget is not replayed, and itsRetry-Afterreaches the caller. Relays, other adapters, OAuth credentials and xAI are unchanged.completedresponse is detected within bounded byte and event limits and retried with at most one physical send. Both behaviors apply only to the exact URLhttps://apis.opengateway.ai/v1/responses.Items fixed
Neither carried PR links an issue, so this PR closes no issues.

Added (sol review P2) the Mistral transport on the native Chat path: a single-key/v1/chat/completionsroute never re-resolved its transport, so it would replay an over-budgetRetry-Afterafter 60 s. A regression test covers it and fails without the fix. Dropped the edits to 7 translated locale docs. The English source is updated; the other locales get no Mistral section, so nothing contradicts it.fetch-helpers.tsonly moves the header-deadline symbol into a shared module (net −2 lines)opengateway-input.ts,opengateway-completion-guard.ts,passthrough-completion.ts, and the regression tests?route=…variants are left untouched. project: "auto"): it sends each API key to an undocumented project-discovery endpoint. That is a new credential destination, which is an owner security decision. It could not be made strictly opt-in with documented evidence that the endpoint is supported, so it is not carried.devalready supplies model-attributed Argon summary windows, so the remaining benefit is a fallback that I could not justify without that review.Judgment calls
test:changed. I confirmed those tests fail the same way on a branch with no launcher changes, so they are an environment problem on this host and do not block the port. I then took the port.Verification

Codex P2 on
mistral-transport.ts: when 128 live identities were tracked, the pacer evicted a liveRetry-Afterdeadline, so the evicted credential/model pair could send early. The latest evicted deadline is now remembered, and identities with no entry wait it out. Memory stays bounded; under extreme fan-out the cost is extra waiting, never an early send. A regression test fails without the fix (tests/providers/mistral-recovery.test.ts: 63 pass / 0 fail).Rebased again onto
origin/devdbb908f (fix(oauth): harden OAuth login/import, quota diagnostics, service/update paths and shim token handling (B5) #7397). Merged with fix(oauth): harden OAuth login/import, quota diagnostics, service/update paths and shim token handling (B5) #7397, the three newscripts/test-layout/layout.jsonrows took it to 2001 lines, which CI's ratchet caught. They are now folded onto neighboring rows, and the file stays at dev's 1998. After that rebase, the same focused command gives 2675 pass / 0 fail (102 files).passthrough-dispatch.tsis 1996.The remaining red

mistral-transport.ts: marking an over-budget 429 as non-replayable also blocked key-pool rotation and sanitized the upstream body. It is now a separate same-target retry hold (markSameTargetRetryHold/isSameTargetRetryHoldinsrc/lib/upstream-retry.ts, carried bycarryReplayRefusal). Only the same-key 429 loops check it: native Chat, adapter dispatch, adapter continuation, and the image and web-search loops. Each check is an in-line condition, soadapter-dispatch.tsstays at 1999 lines. Another pooled key can still serve, and the original status, body andRetry-Afterreach the caller. I reverted the earliernon-replayable-error.ts/upstream-retry.tsretry-after plumbing because it is no longer needed. A new native Chat key-pool test shows the request rotating to the second key; it fails with the old marker.CodeRabbit Minor: an evicted identity that comes back with a shorter delay still waits out its evicted deadline. A regression test covers it.
